A few weeks ago we went down to the Narooma Oyster Festival...
A road had been blocked off and it was held next to the River...at Riverside Drive...
Magnificent Clydesdale horses at the gate...
There were floating sea sculptures...
And of course Oysters...
Oyster Shucking demonstrations...
Sea Scallops prepared by the Royal Australian Navy's finest Cooking Cadets...
Sacks behind the Oyster Bar...
And Australia's first Masterchef...Julie Goodwin was there promoting her book...
And here I am with Julie...a lovely lady and so down to earth!!!

An Oyster Festival! How fun is that!? The food looks scrumptious. Sea Scallops are my absolute favorite! Never pass those up. And how cool to have an autographed copy of Julie Goodwin's book! Sounds like you're having a great weekend Dzintra, and the weather looks great too. (: xxxVicki

I would have loved to meet Julie...I was cheering her to victory, and I was thrilled when she won.I will get her book over the summer, and then we can start making some recipes. Of course, mine won't look like yours, but it will be fun anyways.LOL

Dzintra, that sounds like a wonderful day out! This kind of food is not my favorite..., even if I'm going to have octopus for dinner today. I'd love to taste the cheese cake and rustic potatoes! :) I love the photos of the rugged coastline - where is it (on the map)?
an oysterfest would be the best way to try them prepared in different ways. im near a fresh water lake so no oysters close by.
great ocean shots!
