Giveaway Win, Silent Auction... and an Award!!!

Recently I had the pleasure of entering a giveaway on Micki's blog...and to my utter delight and surprise...thank you to Joe's (Micki's Hubby) numbering system... I won this fabulous Jelly Roll Book...
...and one of Micki's machine embroidered book marks...of which I chose the pink one. Of course I had to purchase a Jelly Roll...this I wasn't going to get for myself until my birthday for a special treat for myself...and of course I had to rush out and buy one...even though it's not my birthday yet. That's okay...I'll have to think of something else now...as if that would be a problem!!! I probably won't get into making anything just yet due to my Hospitality Course which is taking up quite some time at the moment...

Over at On My Veranda, Maree held a Silent Auction in aid of the Bushfires in Victoria. This raised $700-00 and subsequently passed on to the Red Cross...Three Cheers for Maree...a job very well done!!! I bid and was successful in winning this book on Applique...which will come in so handy...now I can look at and learn the techniques of it all...
But wait...there's more...Micki has awarded me this Kreativ Blogger Award of which I am to pass on to three blogs...too hard to choose as usual... but I would like to give a special mention to: Annabelle at Pastoral Dreams...one of the most creative blogs I have ever seen...
and
Susan at Miss Maddie's...one of the most gentle and delightful blogs...
If you get a chance do pop over and say hi to these lovely ladies.
Now I had better get creative...I have to present a three course meal for my course...will do a post on this later on...play Head Chef (along with a partner) at the College Restaurant with real Patrons...cost it all...quantities needed...menus...
I think I'll need to go out to dinner after this is all over!!!

How lucky are you. I purchased the jelly roll book about a month ago. It has so many ideas in it. I just have had the time to start another quilt yet until all UFO are out of the way. Well done.

Gosh Dzintra I'm exhausted reading this post! So much going on in your busy life - I've absolutely no idea what a jelly roll is, but enjoy your prize. You will be a star with your cooking project, wish I could be there to enjoy the results!

Hi Dzintra,
Lucky girl you are! Books are always great treasures to behold.

And yes,to your question of my background, it's mine. I created it with an old map, added the birds and butterflies and mermaid. Graphics Fairy has lots of free royalty free graphics and I use pictures from very very old books...over hundred years old in some cases free photographs and some of my own paintings and photos. Will be happy to help but at the moment I am just learning as well so not quite fluent in all of the procedures. Glad you like the stuff; always nice to hear from you.

Hugs Annabelle

Congratulations Dzintra and your award is very well deserved. I loved your Scottish post - how dreamy are the photographs. Thank you so much for your lovely comment today at French Essence and one thing I have learned is that we all absolutely love blogging, xv.

OT, but...

Read your comment over on 'French Essence' and loved your blog name. Had to come over and say this. ,-)

But with doing as many things as you do, I really don't see how you have a lot of leisure time, to *deserve* being the "Queen of the Armchair." -grin-

For myself, I've been accused of desiring the term, "Queen of the Universe." Now THAT, I can do, from my comfy chair! >,-)

I see you're into the Twilight books. Yessssssssss! I'm now going to re-read 'New Moon,' because they're filming that now. And because I wasn't too thrilled with it, first time around. And skimmed, way too much.

Then Taylor Lautner's portrayal of 'Jacob,' in the "Twilight" film, convinced me to like the 'Jacob' character more.

March 20th is the release of the DVD of "Twilight," here. Well, March 21st... but local book stores are having 'Twilight DVD' parties. If you pre-order it, you go {substitute, 'take your Granddaughters, and wait there, for them'} at 10PM, and wait till midnight, when they begin handing out pre-ordered copies. Fun for the younger readers, occurs between 10PM and midnight. ;-)

I did this, for the release of the last book. Don't think we are doing it, for the DVD though.

Welcome To My World

Hello, my name is Dzintra Ingrid ... have been known as Ingrid and since our Sea Change I have started to use Dzintra ... pronounced without the D ... (but still known as Ingrid, I know, it's confusing ...)

Welcome to my world ... a journal of our Sea Change ... Mum to three wonderful children ... bringing up a daughter with a disability and seeing life through her eyes ... being a new Nanna ... photos ... inspiring quotes ... taking on a cookery course ... the odd recipe ... and trying to get some stitching done amongst all this ...
