~300 Post Giveaway...2 Wins...Kate Morton...and I'm on Crutches~

Wow, 300 posts and 4 years on this little ol' blog of mine
Whoever would've thought that I would come this far on my on-line Journal when I pressed that little button that said 'Create'
To celebrate I thought I would have a little giveaway of a Leanne's House pattern (above) with a little something else

To enter just leave a comment and I will draw the lucky winner's name in 1 weeks time

Another celebration I am enjoying is this pattern by Yvonne that I won on her recent giveaway
Thank you so much Yvonne....I am so looking forward to starting this cushion especially as I have some fat 1/8ths of Lynette Anderson's Scandinavian Christmas fabrics here already

And another win I had this week was through Facebook at Book Publishers Allen & Unwin's site
They asked a simple question......are you a secret keeper
I replied yes but I won't be with Kate Morton's new book The Secret Keeper

And blow me down I received an email saying I had won an uncorrected proof copy of the book

I remember when I read Kate's book The Forgotten Garden I actually emailed her to say how much I enjoyed it and she emailed me back to say thank you THEN I wrote back and said thank you for the thank you and she thanked me!!!!!!!!!!
You can read this post here

And here is my very own copy of 'The Secret Keeper'

Boy how excited am I

This book along with my stitching will keep my busy as I rest a swollen knee and strained muscle I have developed
see the stocking I have to wear on my right leg along with 1/2 a set of crutches
I am working with the physio to build it all up again for the opening of Pirates of Penzance at
Bay Theatre Players which opens up in 2 weeks time..............yipes!!!!!!!!!!

Geez I know it's traditional to break a leg before the opening night but you didn't have to take it so literally and give it a try! I hope it feels better soon! Congrats on 300 posts and the wins too, i might just have to get myself a Kate Morton Novel and see if I enjoy it just as much too.
Rest up!
Hugs
Jo

Congrats on your 300th post, Dzintra!
Never a dull moment at your place. Always interesting to drop by your blog and see what you have been up to. That's a cute little gingerbread project - you will be able to do a little 'stitching therapy' while resting up that swollen knee....

Congratulations on 300 posts!! I've certainly enjoyed a lots of those posts! How wonderful that you won that book, it couldn't have gone to a better person. How crummy about your leg, I hope it gets better soon and in time for Pirates.

I hope all goes well with your healing, Dzintra, in time for opening night. At least a half set of crutches is easier to manage than a full set!!

Hope you enjoy the reading and stitching . . not a bad way to have to rest up :)

I hope you mend soon, lovely girl. Pity that crutch is only loaned, you could jazz it up with glitter, pink ribbon and flowers :-D

Wow, Dzintra, that is so special, winning that copy!!!
So, when will you ever start hurting yourself? You better get it healed very fast. We wouldn't want an injured pirate to show up. But then, it would be quite funny ...

Wow, congrats on your 300 post and thank you for the giveaway!

Yvonne is very generous, I received her pattern too :)
And it's so great to receive a reply from the author (I enjoy reading Australian designers blogs - they are so sweet and answer personally!)

Hugs,
Tatyana

Good morning beautiful friend!

I see, you have that condition of the knee....oh dear, physio is a good thing to target those specific areas. It is always encouraging to me that EXERCISE in the proper doses and with proper execution is GOOD for us all!

You ask about my husband. Well, the doctor said that his knees are actually in very good shape and that the cause (after some extensive xrays) is an old injury to the knee cap. Even though the tissue around the knee cap is in excellent shape, he had developed some wear and tear on the patella, so moderate walking is good for him. He has to avoid sharp stairs but we have been walking daily here in our neighborhood where there are hills. He has been feeling fantastic. 90 degree angles on steep steps are not good for him, but we do run into some wider steps at the park and he is able to do those just fine.

You are SO fortunate that your husband can work from home to tend to your needs! I AGREE, how about some pink bubbles my dear? We both need them!!!!!!!!
Much love my friend! Anita

Dear friend, I posted your comment, but waited until I had a proper moment to visit you, did not want to rush. Dzintra, how is your knee feeling, my friend? This sounds very similar to something I experienced while playing a tennis game in heels a couple of years ago...crazy, I know. But my knee does flare up every now and then...I remember ice brought me great relief, and yes phys. therapy. Oh, I am praying for a quick recovery for you, and a smashing opening night!!!
Take care...what a blessing that your hubby is able to work from home...he sounds like such a sweetheart. JoJo is providing lots of hugs for you, I'm sure. And Congratulations on 4 years of blogging!! And for your wins! How FUN! I am so grateful to dear Anita that she has connected me with beautiful souls like you, dear Dzintra...thank you for sharing your heart with us :)
Blessings and be well, dear friend!
Much love,
- Irina
