Quilt in Stitches continued...and it's Christmas In July!!!

I have been to another workshop hosted by Steph's doing the Bernina Quilt in Stitches...

A variety of stitches are done along with ribbons, braids added...whatever you fancy...

In this workshop we actually cut up 2 of our stitched blocks and added the to our main fabric and this is what my one looked like...

More stitches...

and look at these ones by some of the other ladies...at first look they appear to be braids but they are indeed stitches that look like braids...pretty clever!!!

Some of the braids...chords and ribbon I bought...
haven't had any chance to do any of this in the last week due to having Ryan here...
he is keeping us busy...

and here he is with his little sister and cousins...

Big cooking day tomorrow...
It's Christmas in July so these little decorations that I made from Homespun magazine last year might just have to come out...the pattern is by Lenna Green...
These little cuties actually made it into Homespun magazine...go over here for the article...how exciting is that!!!

Happy Stitching...Happy Christmas in July...and Bon Appetit...Dzintra

Happy Christmas in July!! I know you'll have a wonderful time!! I really love your fancy stitches quilt. It's such a great way to use all those stitches we never get around to using. I'd really like to have a go after seeing how beautiful your blocks are.

GOOD MORNING DZINTRA! You are a whole day ahead of me, so here I am at 5:15am and you are probably in bed...and probably pleasantly exhausted having these darling little ones with you!!!! OH how I would love to just have a simple Bernina! I had thought that this past Christmas my husband was giving me a sewing machine...I could sure use one! I had wanted to make a hem the other day for a simple little project and just ended up ironing on those adhesive hems! SO YOU HAVE A CAULIFLOWER ready to roast up? OH do tell how it comes out. I love it. The olive oil is the trick and of course the garlic. Toss up and then the parmesan cheese really yummies it up!

HAVE FUN MY DEAREST and I do hope that the healing process is continuing!!! Anita

Everyone has posted this evening (here) so I've been having fun visiting and catching up. Enjoy All the family for the Celebrations!

Being a Grandma does limit your stitching time I agree but we wouldn't trade. The fancy stitching is great. So pretty.

Oh Dzintra! YOUR OLD HEADER IS BACK...I am sure it was there when I came earlier, but my computer was starting to go BONKERS on me to the point that later this afternoon......THAT WAS IT! MY COMPUTER DIED ON ME...so I am literally typing on my BERNINA SEWING MACHINE....meaning that my dear and generous husband went out TODAY to buy me a new laptop!!!! SOOOOO....no sewing machine for a while. But I simply cannot be separated from YOU ALL...So I am so happy to be back on line!

HAVE A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS IN JULY SUPPER! HUgs, Anita

I love that you are using your Bernina to do that, and when you have cut them up and put them with material, just awesome.. LOVE the grandbabies and the deccies...

I love all of your stitches. I think my Bernina will do some of that. Maybe she needs a good talking to or maybe I just need to practice. I never thought of making the pieced blocks with the machine stitches. Great idea!

Those decorative stitches look just great! I still haven't got around to try, too many other projects to give priority too.
