We have just this last weekend had a Christmas in July dinner...and our daughter and her lovely little family were able to be here as well!!!
Little ornaments I made last year from Homespun magazine...pattern by Lenna Green of Little Green Cottage...
The menu came from Australian GoodFood magazine...
Velvety Pea & Lettuce Soup with Croutons garnished with deep fried Mint...
and a smaller bowl for the littlies...
Roast Root Vegetables with Thyme, Orange & Vinegar...
these are going into the oven...
Well and truly roasted!!!
Pistachio, Bacon & Sage Stuffed Turkey Breast...
Green Beans with Lemony Breadcrumbs were made also!!!
And a really moist Tipsy Pear & Sultana Cake...
served with Brandy & Vanilla Custard...
One of the little decorations that were on the table...
This was a beautiful and tasty dinner...looks like Christmas in July is here to stay in this house...
JoJo just loves it!!!
Little faery having fun the next morning...
Talk about with it techo children...one has his Mum's iphone and the faery has her Mum's ipad!!!
And what to do with left over turkey...make spring rolls...these were a hit and I think I'll be making more spring rolls in the future...
Bon Appetit...Dzintra

That all looks so yummy!! I love those carrots and the deep fried mint! You're so good at all the little details like the bon Bon lolly on the side of the desert and the white swirls in the soup. Cute decorations! And cute grandchildren!
What a wonderful meal and sharing it with family makes it even better. Yummo

Kāda interesanta tradīcija - Ziemassvētki jūlijā. Jauki esat svinējuši!
Dzintra dearest! OH YEAH...that pan of veggies is up my ally, calling my name!!! I can stand to do without the bread too, but for other reasons! If I get my hands on a good baguette or boule, I can eat the whole thing! When I was in France, I was known to do that! Yikes.....but the only saving factor was all the walking I did so I was able to do it but here in the states, NO WAY! We just do not HAVE to walk every where like they do in France!!!
Have a splendid day my dear, Anita

What a yummy dinner! I was all set to host a Christmas in July dinner this year but then we were invited a Christmas in July party so I didn't have to organise a thing! Isn't it fun celebrating Christmas in Winter!

Teeeheeee...I didn't get very far; it is like when I was five years old and attempted to run away...just to see the world, you know. I was ambling down to the corner of the street when I see my mum slowly walking to come take me back to the house. I DIDN'T GET VERY FAR and neither will I be getting far this summer! I thought I would take a break from blogging but I CANNOT! I just love y'all so much!
Soooooo....I will be back next week! THANK YOU FOR VISITING!!! Anita
