Friday Night Sew-In...January 2010, my first one!!!

What a lovely time I have had participating in my first Friday night Sew-In hosted by Heidi and Bobbi ...
First of all for a couple of hours I trimmed and added borders to what I will call my Bonjour Eiffel Tower Quilt...
I was keen to do more sewing so after dinner I prepared myself a bowl of chocolates...
and watched the movie Chocolat ...but I have to admit as some friends suggested in the last post that Johnny Depp was indeed a distraction!!!

I did a little stitching on my Bareroots table runner...

I thought I would do some of the little floral blocks in the runner...
just about to cut more thread now and thought this made a pretty pic!!!

and I'm all pleased that this block was done by the end of the movie!!!

And here it is under one of the blocks...how cool is that!!!

Not a very clear pic...but this is how it all fits in!!!
Thank you so much Heidi and Bobbi for hosting this wonderful Friday night Sew-In...I have had so much fun doing this...and looking forward to the next one!!!
What a motivator it is...Have a great weekend everyone...Dzintra

Oh Dzintra! You are the sweetest visiter! You are on a different time table than we are so I suppose you are ready at your computer to actually go to bed? Thank you for coming and seeing a bit of my world and Julie's. She really has the loveliest home here in the Twin Cities, and we only live about 10 minutes from each other! I always feel special when I go to her home, as I am sure I would feel entering your home!!! Have a great day, Anita

Oh SO beautiful Dztinra! I don't know how I missed this post until now. I love the Bareroots table runner, and what a good idea a sew-in is! ... and watching Chocolat with that distracting Johnny Depp (next best to Russell Crowe!lol) was a great idea too! (: xxxVicki

Oh Dzintra, thank you for coming to visit me again and going to my "boo-hoo" blog! I had a rough weekend trying to be an academic!!! I have always been a great student, but I have run out of steam at the tail end. I don't understand what my teacher wants and this class is not a good fit for me; it is in another area of study for which I was not prepared and my own work here in my classroom is a lot. Thank you for understanding and leaving such kind thoughts! Friends are precious. Anita

Hey there Dzintra!!! Yes, that is my boo hoo post! I am trudging along with this class and I am usually a great student, but this last haul is really difficult! I can't wait to rest and do what I WANT...write, draw, create!!!

Thanks for always coming to visit, Dzintra! Bisous, Anita

Dearest Dzintra! Oh, it is always a pleasure to receive a visit from you! Paris is a dream; in a three month tour of France, I was in Paris for only 8 days...it wasn't enough time to see a fraction of the elegance. I hope you get a chance to visit the blogs I featured; the food blog especially is remarkable. Her photos of the food that she makes is down right OUTSTANDING. I hope you are enjoying your weekend...thank you for your kind comments, as always my friend! Bisous, Anita

I told you, didn't I! Keep an eye on Sacha...she is prolific and I don't know how she keeps herself so slim if she eats everything that she makes and posts!!!

Hello, my name is Dzintra Ingrid ... have been known as Ingrid and since our Sea Change I have started to use Dzintra ... pronounced without the D ... (but still known as Ingrid, I know, it's confusing ...)

Welcome to my world ... a journal of our Sea Change ... Mum to three wonderful children ... bringing up a daughter with a disability and seeing life through her eyes ... being a new Nanna ... photos ... inspiring quotes ... taking on a cookery course ... the odd recipe ... and trying to get some stitching done amongst all this ...
