Happy Birthday Mum...Daudz Laimes Dzimsanas Diena...and a surprise gift

Today marks a special day in our Family...
my Mother turns 80 years old!!!

I started a Charm Square quilt for her after Christmas...fabric is Glace by 3 Sisters for Moda...
thinking I'll be organized...no rush, just take it easy...ha!!!
So naturally this hasn't been touched since I broke my arm...
Physiotherapy is ongoing...pain is still constantly there...
however today I'm going to have a go at putting some of this quilt together...

I can do certain things...I can lift my arm up to nearly shoulder height now...
I will not regain full use of the shoulder for up to 12 months...holey dooley!!!
I'm still not driving and Mr Armchair gets to be the taxi for me and Jo Jo...lucky him!!!
Things are starting to get slowly getting back to normal here...

I know the above fabric is not a total match but I couldn't resist it for Mum's quilt when I saw it...
full of cup cakes...and perfect for the High Tea we are going to go to to celebrate her day!!!

And here's a pic of us both taken at my Niece's wedding back in November 2010!!!

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR MUM...or in Latvian
Daudz Laimes Dzimsanas Diena Mamina!!!

And a surprise birthday gift in the mail today for me from Andrea...
a traveller's mug and a little notebook with the Eiffel Tower on it...
Just Perfect...thank you so very much dear Andrea!!!

High Tea here we come...

Your present came back yesterday so I will repost it today. Hey you and mum look great. At the Immigration Museum in Melbourne a few years ago they featured immigrants from Latvia and their stories it was a wonderful experience to read and see the exquisite handworked costumes. We Aussies don't know what it is like to be uprooted from homeland and to start again. Bless your mum.

Happy Birthday to Mum! Dear Dzintra, sorry to hear that your arm is not in full use yet. You have been doing quite a lot considering! Didn't make it to see you on the Coast with the two babies in tow. We had a lovely time there and a few swims too - Hugs Nat

Many happy returns! Glace is such a pretty fabric range. Delighted to read that your arm is on the mend but can't believe how long it's going to take your shoulder! Hang in there kiddo. Ann :-)

Welcome To My World

Hello, my name is Dzintra Ingrid ... have been known as Ingrid and since our Sea Change I have started to use Dzintra ... pronounced without the D ... (but still known as Ingrid, I know, it's confusing ...)

Welcome to my world ... a journal of our Sea Change ... Mum to three wonderful children ... bringing up a daughter with a disability and seeing life through her eyes ... being a new Nanna ... photos ... inspiring quotes ... taking on a cookery course ... the odd recipe ... and trying to get some stitching done amongst all this ...
