Just delicious...I think I'm hooked!!!
it is our third summer here and the best they have been!!!
this quilt took 20 years to make...thought I would do a little patchwork course and made 6 blocks...then we moved to some small acres...
it was put down for some years while we reared some animals...
the children were growing up...
we had a daughter with a disability...
but finally...it was completed!!!
To read more about this quilt, go over here...
the lady who quilted it said when washed it will sort of crinkle up and get that antiquey look...
so wash it I did...
the back of it...
and I fell in love with it all over again!!!
I'm hoping that my next quilt doesn't take this long to finish!!!
This weekend will be perfect for hitting that beach...

This is one gorgeours post!! Beautiful blog-change; lovely roses; great lemonade; and a very stunning quilt!!!
You are a very lucky lady!! ;)))
Enjoy your day!
Hi Dzintra and JoJo. Those lemonade limes look and sound delicious! I have very good luck growing lemon balm here. All those roses must smell heavenly - it is hard to choose a favorite they are all so pretty. Dzintra, that quilt is a real treasure. You should be very proud of all that tedious work. I hope you enjoy your weekend and the glorious water.

That lemonade looks so nice and refreshing!
The quilt is lovely.
What a gorgeous quilt Dzintra! Wow! I've never heard of Lemonade Limes, but I think I would be hooked too! You have amazing roses there! I'm having gopher troubles with mine... I'm going to have to figure that one out so I can have some beauties too. Have a wonderful weekend~ xxxVicki
Dearest Dzintra! That lemonade looks absolutely refreshing and is there a big difference between these and regular lemons? I love lemonade. And your quilt is wonderful. I made a quilt with the story of Peter Rabbit and each square was a scene for his story. It took years to make as well, but 20 years...that is a labor of love. Thank you for popping over to my theatre production!!! Have a lovely evening, Anita
hi dzintra
that is an extra-ordinarily gorgeous quilt. i had a nice quilt once from my grandma, but my son loved it so much i gave it to him.
enjoy the water!!....and the lemonade. it looks delicious

Hi Dzintra,
That lemonade looks pretty good :)
The quilt looks lovely...most people would look back and not find something that they had started so long ago would look good...it should shows you should never give up on something worth doing :)
Hugs, Sharon
The roses are beautiful and the lemonade sounds yummy. My Mom used to make a Key Lime pie when I was a child and since we didn't live in the Florida Keys she squeezed the juice from limes just like yours.
The quilt may have been a long time coming but every stitch was made with love and it is perfect...
Enjoy those hot temps this weekend.

We all seem to be blessed with a bumper crop of roses. Thanks for sharing yours you have more colors than I. Beaut
I too remember the quilts before roatary cutters and quilters rulers.
Hip Hip Horray for finishing. The antique look is very VINTAGE and adds to the look.
Great Post
Happy Stitching
Dzintra, those gorgeous fruits must be special to your region....I would sure love to taste some! I LOVE LIMES AND LEMONS and if these beauties are not as tart, oh, what bliss! Have you ever made your own lemon or lime curd? My mom would make her own lemon filling for lemon meringue pie, and it's as close to curd as you can get...sheer culinary heaven!!! Thank you dearest. Anita
Great quilt, what a lot of other things must have taken your time, but twenty years that's amazing. Our roses are giving out new growth too I think they thik it is Spring.

Woweeee, Dzintra, what a beautiful quilt. And the roses are gorgeous! And the lemonade sounds soooo delicious.
I have a finished quilt-top, but I haven't quilted it yet. It may take me another 15 years, and then I'll have a 20-year-quilt too. :) Hey, if it turns out as beautiful as yours, it will be worth the wait!
Hugs,
Zuzu
Hello Dzintra, your quilt is just beautiful. I loved reading about the history of it. I hope you will get to snuggle under it this winter. Happy Monday to you all.

Like good wine, these things can take time. How marvellous that you have fallen in love with it all over again. I love the refreshig zing of limes. So, with the water so warm, did you go for a dip? Ann :-)
Oh Dzintra, you really should use some of these magical limes to make curd....wow!
Have a blessed week! Anita
