The Call Of The Sea...

Yesterday I put together the menu for our Playing Chef tomorrow at Tafe, organized the work stations with their jobs, work flows...thinking today will be clear and I won't stress myself out thinking too much about it all. Received a phone call to say that we have a diabetic coming in for dinner...and someone who doesn't eat capsicum or chilli. Now I think a gluten intolerant person would be so easy for me do deal with...being in the same boat myself...so before getting into it all...I heard the call of the Sea. A little post this afternoon and some of the photos I took just walking along...playing with the waves at the shore. It never ceases to amaze me how different the ocean looks every time...so....here is a little of what I saw, and what caught my eye...
These sandals have been here for a few days now...

Just beyond the foreground...almost a pool in a ring...

On the way back...the perfect beach car...a Volkswagen Combi...a reminder of the 1970's...

And to finish off...a beaut little book...Anne Morrow Lindbergh's "Gift From The Sea"...50th Anniversary Edition...purchased just before our Sea Change nearly two years ago now. The Sea is good for my soul...felt re-energized after my little walk...now back into it all for tomorrow.
The waves echo behind me. Patience~Faith~Openness~ is what the Sea has to teach. Simplicity~Solitude~Intermittency ...Anne Morrow Lindbergh.
Beautiful words and so very fitting...

Well Dzintra, I'm allergic to garlic, onions, leeks, chives, capsicums and chillies...and sulphur (preservatives, antibiotics, etc). Sigh. Eating out becomes such a challenge. Sauces, stocks, dressings, flavoured butters all have to be scrutinsed. No wine, spirits or cocktails. Sigh. I've basically given up trying to eat out. At least I'm not yet allergic to chocolate!

Lovely pix of the sea, very relaxing.

Cheers...Ann :)

How lucky to be near the sea! And expecially in such a beautiful spot as you are. Wonderful post. I felt as though I were walking right along with you....which you know I would love to do! A beautiful book too...calming. Hope all goes smoothly in the kitchen. I know how 'stormy' it can get in there...so it is perfect that you can meditate at the beach beforehand!
Much love,
Catherine

The sea is so alluring and intoxicating...The horizon goes on forever.
Such beautiful photos. Did the VW bus remind you of your flowerchild days?

Gorgeous pics Dzintra - as much as I love living up here in the Hills, we are so far from the ocean & we do miss it. Life wouldn't be worth living if I had a chillie food allergy- I'm a hot & spicy gal thru' & thru!

Oh Dzintra, what a wonderful beach you have! So different, and yet so the same as mine. I love every ocean color! Thank you for showing us. The tidal pools look inviting ... what have you found in them?

My daughter-in-law just found out her health problems are from gluten intolerance! She and I are trying to work through how to deal with it, what she can and can't eat... a real nightmare for her. Not knowing anyone who has had it before... I'm still trying to reassure her the her life will go on and we will figure it out together.

Thank you for sharing the photos. You live in a magical place.

xxxVicki
