Recently I had the pleasure of meeting Vicki over in California who had discovered Australia's Donna Hay magazine. Vicki lives not too far from the ocean as I do...and she has the most fabulous garden...so if you get a chance go on over and have a look...Between us we thought we would both regularly cook a meal from Donna's magazine and blog about it...So here is my turn... Took a 5 minute drive to a little village to purchase supplies...the supermarket is around the corner from the beach...
Latest edition of the mag...Autumn 2009
Couldn't resist putting this page in...
Strum of a guitar
Harmony of friends
Chorus of laughter
Symphony of nature...

Preparations begin...I have chosen Thyme Pork with Parmesan Parsnip Mash...
Had to improvize here...there was no fresh thyme...no parsnip so I used Sweet Potato...help, I needed to raid your vegie patch Vicki!!!
Getting ready to grate the Parmesan with the 'French Grater' all the way from Paris...
Hubby put his mark on the table...a bottle of red!!!

What a fun idea. It all looks so tasty. Hope you are having a great day!
Ooh I love parsnips, that sounds delicious. Lucky I don't live nearby Dzintra, I'd be forever "popping in", especially at meal times hee hee Kath x
What fun! Your chosen Donna Hay dinner looks delicious... Thyme Pork with Parmesan Parsnip/Sweet Potato Mash, and your hubby's excellent addition all looks delicious! The advertising image (and especially the words) for Annie's Lane winery... a perfect touch to your post.
I also love your French grater. Do you mind me asking how it came to you, all the way from Paris? (I looked to see if you had posted about it, but couldn't find it ... probably my lack of sleuthing abilities... lol) (:
If we lived closer to each other, I'd love for you to raid my garden any time! And I'm with Kath... I'd probably be "popping in" to see your latest cooking (and stitching) ventures!
Thank you for awarding the world renowned "Zombie Chicken Award" to me! I humbly accept this honor. Its my first ever award, and I will happily pass it on!
... I have just now returned from a journey through Cathrine's blog (and a number of her reader's blogs as well) ... from which this award so deservedly came to you. I honestly never dreamed blogging would be this amazingly fun/interesting/educational/touching/and so much more. I must thank you for being my very first visitor and encouraging me to venture into this great big world of blog! If not for you, I would likely have timidly back out. What a journey in only 4 months~ Hugs to you, Vicki
Lovely award and the pork looks so yummy! I like the way you've made it your own as well, and not following the recipe to the letter.
Looks yummy. It makes me hungry looking at all the food!!! Donna Hay also brought out crockeries sets etc. I have been admiring them, but have not bought any.
You deserve that award, for sure..If I was your neighbor, I would be way overweight..I couldn't resist all that lovely food! You are always coming up with such tempting dishes.
Micki
Dzintra the beans look so yummy must make them.I believe my mom cooks them up in a similar way.
Thanks for sharing all of this good food with us.
Hugs Annabelle
Yummmmmmmmmmmmmm...
And thank you for telling me that you're enjoying the 'Twilight' DVD.
'Alice's Aunt'
The pleasure's been mine reading this post. I also love to cook . I have thyme in a pot and it never seems to die. Some people can't have it in the cooking so I aleways say. The Rennies are in the cupboard if needed.
I love the Zombie Chicks - congrats for the Award Dzintra! So nice to see those yummy pork chops featured on your menu. I'm worried that our poor piggies are getting a really bad rap through this most unfair link to the current strain of influenza. MOTH said last night we must make a concerted effort to support the industry.
Millie ^_^
Don't you just love Donna Hay - Martha Stewart meets the Women's Weekly! Your pork chops look delicious. Congratulations on your award...Ann :)
Hello sweet lady! WOW! I had you for tea but YOU have made me so hungry with your lovely spread of PORK CHOPS! Gorgeous. Thank you for visiting me!
Your meal looks delicious! But tell me, how will you prepare those Zombie chickens?!
I'm off on vacation next week. Will miss you. Talk when I return.
Much love to you,
Catherine
This looks great, Dzintra! Wish I could have joined you with a nice glass of wine. I shall have a look here, to see if they sell the magazine here. The way you made it, it looks so easy.
Gefeliciteerd with your award!
dearest,
your dinner smells heavenly all the way to Oregon, USA.
I have gotten 2 of the beautiful Donna Hay magazines and they are wonderful...
now may I ask for a small bowl of green beans and maybe a tiny corner from your pork cutlet?
It looks like a wonderful dinner. I wish I could share some fresh thyme with you from my kitchen garden.
That's just what I filled my old layde's pocket with, some lovely fresh thyme.
have a lovely autumn dear Dzintra,
xo,C
We would call those pork chops here in the states. They look deliscious! I like your blog.
