~OPAM (One Project A Month) August 2017...'Whanau'

My blog posts have been few and far between this year for various reasons
but I did manage an OPAM for August YAY

A little Farewell Mini Quilt for a Friend going back to New Zealand whilst her Father is not very well
My Friend is a Florist so I thought it apt to take some photos of the Quilt in the Camelia Bush

Little Quilt amongst a Camelia and some Sea Shells

Even though the back doesn't exactly match the front I thought it depicted our coastal area very well

'Whanau' is a Maori word for Family which is what this is all about

I even attached the Camelia to the gift and she just loved this

Many thanks to Sweet Peg and her Partner in Crime Kris for hosting OPAM again this year!!!

~Vale - Aunty Ausma~

On 22nd May 2071 this year my Dear Aunt Ausma (Dawn) passed away after some health setbacks....

She was my Beloved Godmother and Aunt
She did beautiful Tapestries......one pictured above
A great Knitter too........she used to knit for David Jones (department store)
She could play Canasta with 2 decks of cards
She was a talented Musician and this talent runs through the Family
She rang me on every Birthday and in between

Her and my Family had a hard time escaping the war having to leave everything behind and start all over again in a new country, Australia, but they did it

I will certainly miss her especially her cheery voice on my Birthday

And as is said in Latvijan
Milestiba nekad nebeidzas
(Love never dies)

Rest In Peace dear Aunt
Atkal redzesinas (until we meet again)

Ingrid
(as she knew me, which is my middle name.  I started using Dzintra when we made our Sea Change)

Welcome To My World

Hello, my name is Dzintra Ingrid ... have been known as Ingrid and since our Sea Change I have started to use Dzintra ... pronounced without the D ... (but still known as Ingrid, I know, it's confusing ...)

Welcome to my world ... a journal of our Sea Change ... Mum to three wonderful children ... bringing up a daughter with a disability and seeing life through her eyes ... being a new Nanna ... photos ... inspiring quotes ... taking on a cookery course ... the odd recipe ... and trying to get some stitching done amongst all this ...
