I'M IN PRINT...Homespun Magazine!!!

Back in July I received my subscription for Homespun magazine on a Tuesday...
and ended up making the 3 little felt decorations above by Lenna Green in record time...
They were all ready by Saturday!!!
I emailed the magazine and told them I had done this!!!

Last week I received the latest edition of the magazine...and blow me down these little 'ornies' are on the Reader's Showcase page!!!

Here's how they appeared in the mag...

I was only intending to make one for JoJo...but went on to make a Snowman for Mr Armchair...

Santa for JoJo...

Last week JoJo and I took a trip up to Shop Handmade...

Shop Handmade also holds quarterly markets which were
founded by Julie Nichols. The markets bring together talented artists, designers, stylists, craftspeople and gourmets...
The Shop is absolutely gorgeous...a real visual delight...and besides, I can never resist calling in and saying hi to the girls there...Hi Posie, Hi Rach!!!

Below are some pics that I took that day!!!

handmade living. – a designer collective is a stunning collection of projects and inspirational ideas from some of Australia’s most talented handmade artisans, designers and craftspeople. This gorgeous collective features over 70 projects that will have handmade aficionados everywhere firing up their sewing machines and melting chocolate.

I've picked up my book and it doesn't disappoint...I'll come back with pics of the markets...I had my book signed by some of the designers who were there as well!!!
After all this JoJo and I had morning tea, coffee and hot chocolate and gluten free orange cake...we followed this by some Christmas shopping!!!

Braidwood Quilt Event...Annual Airing of the Quilts...Braidwood, New South Wales

Last weekend we were passing through Braidwood and were lucky enough to view Airing of The Quilts an annual Quilt Event in Braidwood...

The entire town is classified by the National Trust and Braidwood is the first complete town to be listed on the NSW State Heritage Register. Braidwood also boasts the fact that it still retains most of the Georgian town plan, one of the last left in Australia. The rural life and charm of the town is carried on against many fine examples of 19th century architecture.

Many quilts were on display hanging from the balconies in the village...
enjoy these pics of the quilts!!!

Double Irish Chain...

Where are the Belisho Beacons...

One of the fine old buildings in the street...

Vintage quilts outside 'Braidwood Times'...

Looking front on to the Braidwood Times building...

Even the footpath outside is old timber pieces...

Cute cottage garden...

We thought we'd wander over to this quiet little corner across the road...

and hanging over the railing was this gorgeous Christmas Quilt!!!

The lady on the stall...whose name is Kitty...offered to hold it up for JoJo...
turns out that she has a holdiday house in our area and offered to call in sometime when she is down this way!!!

One of the borders!!!
I just love this quilt!!!

She was such a kind lady she offered JoJo a Shortbread Christmas tree and a Candy Cane which just thrilled her to bits!!!
Thank you so much Kitty...it's lovely to meet you!!!
We had a wonderful time viewing the quilts...strolling through the town and look forward to perhaps going there next year!!!

Braidwood was so inspiring to visit..I'm keen to get quilting!!!

Anyone want to join me?

Lovely little beads and buttons adorn this...

For my needlework group Fiona asked everybody to cover some foam (provided) for our meeting place at the Church Hall...and here is my one...
it has a pale blue backing...

Hello, my name is Dzintra Ingrid ... have been known as Ingrid and since our Sea Change I have started to use Dzintra ... pronounced without the D ... (but still known as Ingrid, I know, it's confusing ...)

Welcome to my world ... a journal of our Sea Change ... Mum to three wonderful children ... bringing up a daughter with a disability and seeing life through her eyes ... being a new Nanna ... photos ... inspiring quotes ... taking on a cookery course ... the odd recipe ... and trying to get some stitching done amongst all this ...
