Not a day goes by when I don't think of him...
It seems like yesterday...
How he would love to see his family grown...
Grandchildren growing in his adopted country...

I've signed up in Lisa's Colour Swap...

So here they are Annie...all posted yesterday down to our beautiful State of Tasmania...

And look I even found sticky tape with red hearts on it...how cute is that!!!
Thank you so much Lisa for hosting this Colour Swap...

Sewing, Reading, The Kitchen...A Landslip and Bay Theatre Players

Boy isn't this year just screaming along...already May here and to think the Sun will be making it's way back to our part of the world next month!!!

Isn't this just the sweetest little pouch above stitched by Fiona at my Needlework Group

and here it is opened up...

I'm thinking I might do it in this fabric...bright paisleys by Dear Stella...
quite different from my usual darker fabrics but I think I just love paisley!!!

And who can resist Miss Fisher, played by Essie Davis especially her costumes...her hair and what she gets up to!!!
I've bought the first book by Kerry Greenwood and can see myself slowly getting the full series...
Just love the show and settings of the 1920's...mesmerizing!!!

After getting a new stove last year we found that the lino didn't make it to the full width of the floor and after some time (months and months) we purchased some black and white chequered lino...

Miss Fisher even has something similar!!!

As we expected there was timber underneath the lino and now we are thinking we might try to do a bit of sanding and leave it there rather than cover it over...we'll see how we go with it!!!

A few weeks ago due to heavy rain there was a landslip on the Clyde Mountain due to heavy rain...
Mr Armchair commutes on this road during the week...luckily it was all fixed within a week!!!

Pics from the internet...

Our small local theatre...The Bay Theatre Players has just finished up their first play for this year...
'We Found Love and an Exquisite set of Porcelain Figurines aboard the SS Farndale Avenue'

The set...

The cast...

Another great play and a very popular one being done by many Amateur Theatre companies!!!

The next play scheduled is Season's Greetings by Alan Ayckbourn

'It's Christmas in July, and passions flare as family, friends and an unexpected guest endure three days of Christmas  holiday festivities...Ayckbourn's customary ironic views on life and love combine with excessive seasonal spirit(s) to present this perfect gift of a show'

Playing:  Preview 15 July-August 4

and I'm one of the 'singing' Policemen!!!

Cook up with Vicki and Donna Hay (No 15)...Spiced Lemon Chicken, Creamed Corn Polenta and Sticky Date Pudding

My latest Cook Up with Vicki from Donna Hay magazine...

Menu was...Spiced Lemon Chicken
Creamed Corn Polenta
Sticky Date Pudding (adapted using gluten free self raising flour and rapadura sugar)

Creamed Corn Polenta from this issue...

Sticky Date Pudding from this issue...

Rapadura Sugar and Butter melting...

Pudding cooked...

Texture and colour using the Rapadura...I don't think the colour is much different to using other sugars...

The sauce was delicious...topped with a 'blob' of cream...YUM YUM YUM!!!
Especially since I can rarely buy Sticky Date Pudding gluten free even though it is all over the place in cafes and restaurants!!!

And I've purchased a new pattern...
couldn't resist this as I just loved those deep colours...
but no way will I be starting this right now...
I'm working on my Partner Annie's Swap hosted by Lisa...

Better get cracking...it's due soon...Dzintra

OPAM (One Project A Month)...April

And here is my OPAM for April!!!
Thanks to Peg and Kris for organizing this...I KNOW I do get more done than I normally would!!!
So happy with this one too...
I saw this little label amongst others and bought it not knowing what I would use it for...

I've made this bag before and I just love it...

Fabrics purchased from My Patch at Milton...

And ta da here is this cute little bag...front

and back...

and hanging...

I also finished this block for our Needlework Group...
this was homework at Christmas...
Fiona organizes blocks for everyone and during the year they are put together into a quilt and raffled off...pretty good I think!!!

Hello, my name is Dzintra Ingrid ... have been known as Ingrid and since our Sea Change I have started to use Dzintra ... pronounced without the D ... (but still known as Ingrid, I know, it's confusing ...)

Welcome to my world ... a journal of our Sea Change ... Mum to three wonderful children ... bringing up a daughter with a disability and seeing life through her eyes ... being a new Nanna ... photos ... inspiring quotes ... taking on a cookery course ... the odd recipe ... and trying to get some stitching done amongst all this ...
