A quick update here....
When I went to the Blogmeet at the Craft Show I had in mind that if I bought a kit I wanted to come home and start it as soon as possible!
Not having done much hand quilting I really wanted to give this a go...
All the strips are sewn together and I thought that I would use the Americana thread above to quilt as I remember that I was told it was for hand quilting due to the fact that it would go through the fabric nice and easy...
and it sure did!!!
The kit......surprise, surprise by Anni Downes of Hatched and Patched!
All cut and ready to be sewn together...
Then I started photographing from all angles...stitchery on top of the pile of fabric...
Fabric chain-pieced together...
I have only done this once before!
I thought it looked nice hanging up......for a moment!!!
Unpressed...
Pressed...
the reverse side...
with the thread and needlecase all set to quilt...
Imagining what it will look like all finished!!!
And I'm soooo happy about how it's starting to look!!!

Adorable, love the fabrics and the stitching!
Oh Dzintra, I LOVE THIS! And get this, but with my EYE for things, I actually enjoy the reverse side as WELL! The wiggly lines intrigue me! But the finished product is just FABULOUS! And I bet you will be able to find some great summer wear in aqua! That color is to STAY!
Have fun my dear friend! Anita
I'm all about the Americana folks, lol. And our heat here in the Lancaster,pa seems to now be breaking. Amish quilts at least the high quality ones are pretty pricey, but a lot of work and time goes into making one so I can easily see why they can cost so very much! Beautiful Dzintra, love the fabrics also and the Anni Downs bag is gorgeous.
Looks great! I have that pattern to make SOMETIME! Yours looks wonderful.
YES, it is often the BACK of a piece of art that tells the story, isn't it? Like a tapestry is our lives; we see all the pattern in place, but if only we were to turn over to the back to see all the mistakes made RIGHT.....
Have a lovely day my sweet friend! Anita
Happy quilting! It's going to be lovely.
Love the story telling.
AND the result.

Nice quilty bag. My kind of scrap piecing (wish I have time to play!) I think the stitchery pattern attracted you to this bag. It's going to be nice with the hand quilting - xoxo
Great! Looking forward to the finish.
