Some Respite...and a Beach Walk for Two...!!!

A couple of weeks ago we were lucky enough to have our JoJo on Respite Care...for those unaware she is our Daughter that has a disability...so DH and I took this opportunity on a perfect coastal sunny Winter's Day...and headed off for a beachwalk...and we were a couple for a few hours!!!
This post is mostly purely visual...so sit back and come walk with us...
After walking 750m we crossed the grassy patch and upon entering the path way we came upon this wonderful sight...lovely little boats...Obviously a Club outing...they were going around, chatting with each other...and then continued on...

Seagulls on a log...not too many people on the beach...very peaceful...
What I call beachflowers!!!

Love the look of glistening water...
Came by this Sea Creature...a lovely purple shade...it appeared to be stuck in the sand...
so began our adventure with him...DH very gently picked it up...
put him into the ocean to wash the sand off...and voila here it is...What a gorgeous colour!!!

Hope you've enjoyed a look at our beach...a very peaceful place in Winter!!!
And just to finish off I found this very appropriate quote while flipping through a Homespum magazine...
This made me think of our situation...caring for JoJ0 and seeing life through her eyes...
It can be a hard and difficult road sometimes, but hey we wouldn't have it any other way!!!
She has made us see life in a different way, something we wouldn't of experienced otherwise I don't think...and we have learnt and are still learning so much...
~Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and I -
I took the one less travelled by
And that has made all the difference~
Robert Frost 1874-1963

Hi Dzintra, I am so happy that you and DH got away to enjoy beautiful and peaceful scenery. I sure enjoyed seeing the lovely pictures. I have been a caregiver to my dad, my mom and now my DH. Like you, they each have made me see life/small pleasures/blessings in a whole different way. JoJo is very blessed to have you as Mom.

The beach is such a lovely yet moody place in winter, sometimes I love it more like this than in summer.

Thank you so much for sharing your walk with us, you live in such a beautiful area.

Hello Dzintra!
It is always a pleasure to get a visit from you! It fascinates me that it your winter; we are enjoying a most beautiful summer here. It is not too hot so we are not dealing with extremes. You asked if I still had my mom's vintage sewing trousse...unfortunately, all was lost when she passed away and I headed back to work and school in Massachusetts. She had the most lovely things, but most of all the memories of what she did with these tools are many. My adviser was happy to receive from me 30 pages 6 hours before the deadline! Because of that, my harp playing and blogging has dwindled, but my thesis will soon be over and then I can get back to writing about what I really enjoy: blogging about whatever! The photos on the beach are so good. That purple organism, what a wonder!!! We don't have an ocean here in the Midwest, but my DH and I love to walk around the many beautiful lakes here. MInnesota is land of 10,000 lakes and I estimate that we have even more than that!

Enjoy the rest of your winter and I will be back soon! Anita

Beautiful pics Dzintra and how poignant your words. I always believe that special children only ever are given to the most special of people and I know that you are no exception. I am glad you enjoyed your well deserved walk, xv.

What a lovely post and such a wonderful quote at the end! Robert Frost was one of my favorite poets (I don't tend to read poetry anymore).
I am so happy for you that you and your DH had this wonderful time together!

Welcome To My World

Hello, my name is Dzintra Ingrid ... have been known as Ingrid and since our Sea Change I have started to use Dzintra ... pronounced without the D ... (but still known as Ingrid, I know, it's confusing ...)

Welcome to my world ... a journal of our Sea Change ... Mum to three wonderful children ... bringing up a daughter with a disability and seeing life through her eyes ... being a new Nanna ... photos ... inspiring quotes ... taking on a cookery course ... the odd recipe ... and trying to get some stitching done amongst all this ...
